Installation

The Canaveral Port Authority selected ADELTE as the preferred provider of 2 symmetrical PBBs for the new Cruise Terminal 6. This terminal is dedicated to Carnival’s cruise ships. The major challenge of this project was the short period of time in which the HYDRA PBBs needed to be delivered. ADELTE designed, manufactured, assembled the PBBs in the Port of Barcelona, shipped the systems to Port Canaveral and completed commissioning in only eight months time.
The two HYDRA PBBs can be moved along the whole quay and connect with various levels of Carnival’s cruise ship entrance doors. The cabins of these bridges are equipped with a uniquely integrated hydraulic telescopic docking ramp that follows the vessel’s movements and will safely undock in case of an emergency. The PBBs have four tunnels that adjust to the appropriate slope of 1:12 (ADA requirement). The building side tunnel of these PBBs is able to reach doors of the terminal at different heights. The PBBs are designed with a wide structure which provides maximum clearance for all logistic operations at the quay level.
