Installation

Port Miami, the cruise capital of the world contracted ADELTE to design, manufacture, and deliver two completely assembled and symmetrical HYDRA PBBs for Cruise Terminal D dedicated to the turnaround operations of the Carnival Breeze and other Carnival ships. Innovative in the design of these PBBs is the telescopic seaside tunnel. This section allows independent movement from the rest of the structure, thus gaining in flexibility, speed, comfort, and safety.

The two HYDRA PBBs have the capability to move along the whole quay and are able to connect with the various levels of cruise ship entrance doors, including mega vessels with overhanging lifeboats like the Carnival Breeze. These PBBs, equipped with a telescopic seaside tunnel are the first of its kind and the innovation allows the cabin to move horizontally and vertically in order to reach the ship door without moving the whole structure. The structures of the PBBs are designed to provide a maximum clearance for all logistic operations on the berth. ADELTE’s PBBs are compliant with all up-to-date international safety and security standards.
