Installation

Baleària is one of Spain’s leading ferry companies operating ferries to and from the Spanish mainland and the Balearic islands. When Baleària decided to enhance the boarding facilities and processes for its customers using the Ramon Llull catamaran from the Drassanes Terminal, ADELTE was challenged to design and construct its – until then – largest ever passenger boarding bridge. The bridge needed to cover 100 metres walking distance from the terminal building to the ferry vessel.
A passenger boarding bridge and covered walkway in a total length of 100 metres. The glazed tunnels are painted in Baleària’s corporate colours. The width of the tunnels is more than 2 metres and the tunnels are air-conditioned, allowing passengers to have a pleasant and spacious boarding and disembarkation experience. The cabin has a unique patented design, as it can slide horizontally along the tunnel. Because of its height of 4.5 metres, different sorts of vehicles can easily drive underneath the construction.
