Installation

As a response to the increase in passenger traffic, Creuers del Port de Barcelona, SA, built a new cruise terminal designed by BEA international and capable of handling the world’s largest cruise ships with 3,600 passengers. The old facility (3,000 m2) was converted into a terminal measuring almost 7,000 m2, including all the latest security, comfort and operations systems. ADELTE was contracted by Creuers to design and construct two mobile passenger boarding bridges, capable of connecting the cruise ships with the elevated walkways leading towards the new terminal building.
Single structure passenger boarding bridges with glazed tunnels and an electromechanical elevation system. The docking ramps are hydraulic and the cabins are fixed. The bridges are PLC controlled and specially designed to serve a wide variety of cruise ships. The bridges use an electromechanical elevation system and its bogies on the docking side slide along the rails in the quay, while on the terminal side sets of solid rubber wheels follow the track.
