Barcelona, 21st September 2011 – On September 8th, ADELTE Group and EFS – Equipo Facility Services signed an agreement with Baring Private Equity Partners to increase the capital of ADELTE and EFS and to help re-launch its airport passenger boarding bridges business, in which the group was already present until 2006.

This agreement will also further enhance the current activities of seaport passenger boarding bridges, special transport trailers, maintenance services for electromechanical equipment, ground handling services and integrated management of passenger baggage carts.

The group is present in 11 countries and exports 40% of its business.

ADELTE GROUP y EFS is composed of a diverse group of engineering and services companies based in Barcelona and with technical-commercial offices in Madrid and Miami.

In 2010, the group achieved a consolidated turnover of € 27 million, with annual growth exceeding 15% in recent years and a percentage of export of passenger boarding bridges of 80%. The group is led by CEO Josep Maria Bartomeu.

In recent years, the group has developed and consolidated its activities in the field of passenger boarding bridges for cruise and ferry terminals, a market that has seen substantial growth due to the booming cruise tourism business. As a result of this strategy, passenger boarding bridges have been installed at some of the world’s major ports such as Miami, Barcelona, Hamburg, Venice, Marseille, Southampton, New York,  Tangier and Singapore.

Meanwhile EFS – Equipo Facility Services is dedicated to providing customized services for large facilities and infrastructures. EFS is currently present at several Spanish airports, providing management and maintenance of baggage carts and automated baggage transport, operations of passenger boarding bridges, maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment and handling services.

ADELTE Group and EFS have been assisted in this operation by NextCorporate as financial advisor and the law firm Almazor & Espuny as legal advisor. On behalf of Baring Private Equity Partners the agreement was signed by Mr. Javier Bernal, partner, and Deloitte acted as legal advisor.
