Installation

MSC Cruises contracted ADELTE to design, manufacture, and install two HYDRA-type Seaport Passenger Boarding Bridges (SPBBs) for its new state-of-the-art Cruise Terminal H, located on the Adossat Quay in the Port of Barcelona.

These advanced SPBBs are designed to move along the entire length of the quay, offering maximum flexibility in aligning with different ship boarding door heights. Each bridge features a fully integrated hydraulic, telescopic docking ramp housed within the cabin, which automatically adjusts to the ship’s movements while securely docked. In the event of an emergency, the system can instantly undock to ensure passenger safety.

Terminal H was designed by renowned architect Ricardo Bofill and sets a new benchmark in sustainable cruise infrastructure. The terminal proudly holds LEED Gold certification, incorporating energy-efficient systems and eco-conscious materials to provide a modern, comfortable, and environmentally responsible experience for cruise passengers.
