PCA ADV: A Win-Win Solution for airports, airlines, passengers and the planet

Airports and airlines are responding to the growing urgency of climate action by investing in innovative solutions to achieve zero CO emissions. Many airports aim to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, with the aviation industry targeting the same by 2050.

Supported by initiatives from the Airports Council International (ACI) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the industry is moving rapidly toward these ambitious goals. As an ACI World Business Partner, ADELTE delivers expertly engineered solutions that help airlines and airports reduce CO emissions and advance climate protection efforts.

For over a decade, ADELTE has designed, manufactured, and supplied Preconditioned Air (PCA) units to airports
worldwide. Now, ADELTE is raising the bar with the PCA ADV. Engineered for maximum efficiency and sustainability, the PCA ADV is ecological, cost-effective, and designed to outperform existing solutions in the market. With this new generation of PCA units, ADELTE continues to lead the way in greener, smarter airport operations.

ADELTE’S ENGINEERED SOLUTION: PCA ADV

Building on our extensive experience with PCA systems such as the ZEPHIR and INVERTER series, ADELTE proudly presents the PCA ADV. Engineered for efficiency and comfort, the PCA ADV delivers significant reductions in electricity consumption while enhancing thermal comfort for passengers.

These improvements are made possible through optimized supply temperatures, faster start-up times, and advanced energy recovery systems. Enhanced control and data management ensure precision and reliability, while the PCA ADV provides higher thermal capacity more efficiently than current systems.

GREEN REFRIGERANT FOR A GREEN ENVIRONMENT

ADELTE leads the way in sustainable innovation by equipping its PCA ADV models with R-454B, one of the most eco-efficient refrigerants on the market.

As airports worldwide accelerate their journey toward Net Zero emissions, R-454B is becoming the go-to choice for aircraft conditioning air supply systems. It replaces older refrigerants like R-134A and R-410A, which have significantly higher Global Warming Potential (GWP).

HIGH ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN COLD-WEATHER CONDITIONS

Lower energy consumption, maximum heating performance with Heat Pump

The PCA ADV features an integrated Heat Pump system that supplies heating to the aircraft using the units own refrigeration circuit, eliminating the need for electrical heaters even at outside temperatures down to -3°C.

This advanced system delivers the full required heating capacity while reducing energy consumption, thanks to the high efficiency of the refrigeration system with a COP of 2.0 and EER of 2.0.

UNIQUE INNOVATIVE KEY COMPONENTS

At ADELTE, innovation drives everything we do. The new PCA ADV represents a true step-change in aircraft air conditioning. Its advanced internal systems, intelligent operation analysis, and seamless integration with airport infrastructure, including passenger boarding bridges, deliver unmatched efficiency, comfort, and reliability for every operation.

COOLING IN HEAT CONDITIONS

The PCA ADV is engineered to cool aircraft efficiently, even in extreme heat. In cooling mode, the PCA ADV can consistently supply air at temperatures as low as -2°C, ensuring passenger comfort in any conditions.

HEATING IN COLD CONDITIONS

The PCA ADV features an integrated Heat Pump system that operates in temperatures as low as -3°C, delivering warm air up to 50°C. By eliminating the need for electrical heaters, it ensures energy efficiency and reliable heating in all cold-weather conditions.

MAXIMUM QUALITY AIR

R-454B refrigerant combines high efficiency with minimal environmental impact, providing cleaner, healthier cabin air for passengers during boarding.

EASE OF INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE

The PCA ADV is a versatile point-of-use unit that fits any ground platform layout or attaches to any Passenger Boarding Bridge. It can also be mobile-supported and integrated with an autonomous system, featuring a direct-access design for quick and easy maintenance of all internal components.

ADAPTIVE AIRFLOW CONTROL

The PCA ADV automatically adjusts airflow during each operation, increasing it when passengers are onboard and reducing it once they have disembarked, maximizing comfort and energy efficiency.

QUICK AIRCRAFT PROFILE

Airflow rates are automatically adjusted based on aircraft type and outside temperature, delivering maximum passenger comfort while optimizing energy efficiency in every operation.

SUPERIOR PASSENGER CONFORT

Designed to enhance the passenger experience, the PCA ADV uses a reinforced thermo-acoustic insulation ensuring significant noise reduction, while the system maintains continuous low temperatures down to -2°C. Indeed the PCA ADV uses air quality sensors and G4 filters to deliver clean, high-quality air, providing maximum thermal comfort on every boarding.
