Installation

We designed a project for the Tarbes-Ossun-Lourdes Airport in France as part of an agreement it signed to supply four passenger boarding bridges in April 1997. The equipment was installed in February 1998, with commissioning taking place in March of the same year.

The solution provided for the Tarbes Airport consisted of four telescoping passenger boarding bridges for aircraft access, of glass-sided Apron Drive 2D type (two decreasing sections). The larger section is adjacent to the building, with the smaller section joining the bridge to the aircraft. A specific feature required of the project was that all bridges be manufactured to accommodate a minimum docking height of 1.3 m. The exterior of the boarding bridges has a glass finish with rounded edges and stainless steel guides. The bridges also have grooved rubber flooring and air conditioning units. The boarding bridges are anchored in a concrete foundation. The drive and lifting mechanisms are electromechanically operated.
