In April 1996 we reached an agreement with the Prague Airport in the Czech Republic for the two-stage supply of 11 telescopic passenger boarding bridges for aircraft access of the Apron Drive 2C-type (with two increasing bodies). The smaller section was installed at the building end and the larger used to handle aircraft docking in order to meet the target extension-retraction ratio optimisation. Three passenger boarding bridges were commissioned in December 1996 and another eight in March 1997.
The Prague passenger boarding bridges feature a smooth exterior finish and rectangular shape and are equipped with a heating unit at the command post as well as ventilation. Nine of the passenger boarding bridges are equipped with a supplementary static 90-KvA power supply of 400Hz, whilst two others have two static 120-KvA units of 400Hz with hoist cable and 400Hz cables. The equipment also includes a semiautomatic VDGS optical guide to facilitate aircraft docking. All mechanisms are electromechancally operated. The traction mechanism consists of a compact unit mounted on the drive axle structure.
