Apron Drive Passenger Boarding Bridge

THE PROJECTADELTE designed a project for the Río de Janeiro Airport in Brazil, to supply passenger boarding bridges in 1997, with a second agreement signed in 1998 to supply 11 sets of fixed bridges and docking distribution units. The operations were handled by the ADELTE's head office in the country, ADELTE DO BRASIL.
TECHNICAL FEATURESThe solution provided for the Río de Janeiro Airport consisted of nineteen glass-sided passenger boarding bridges of the Apron Drive 2C and 3C type (two and three increasing sections). The smaller section is adjacent to the building, with the larger section joining the bridge to the aircraft. One particular feature of the project was that the passenger boarding bridges were fitted with equipment suitable for tropical environments. The boarding bridge exterior has a smooth finish, rounded edges and stainless steel guides, with the interior finish consisting of panelling and nonskid rubber flooring. All bridges are equipped with air conditioners. The drive and lifting mechanisms are electromechanically operated.
