Barcelona, 7th May 2015 – Creuers del Port de Barcelona took delivery of the sophisticated Seaport Passenger Boarding Bridge (SPBB) designed, manufactured and installed by ADELTE and operating at the cruise terminals on the Adosado Quay in the Port of Barcelona.

Royal Caribbean’s latest Oasis class vessel, the Allure of the Seas, does homeport in Barcelona from May to October and cruises on the Mediterranean sea, calling at Palma de Mallorca, Marseilles, La Spezia, Civitavecchia and Naples. ADELTE’s new system, an HYDRA model Seaport Passenger Boarding Bridge, was installed in time to welcome the world’s biggest cruise ship and offer its 6,300+ guests an efficient, safe and comfortable boarding, including to those with reduced mobility.

This custom-designed boarding bridge includes the latest innovations and cutting-edge technology patented by ADELTE. It is also perfectly adapted to dock new-generation mega cruise ships with overhanging lifeboats and allows continuous truck, equipment and supplies traffic on the quayside while passengers can embark and disembark in total security.

We are very proud to have been involved in this project and to have a long and successful working relationship with a leading cruise terminal operator such as Creuers comments Jordi Floreta, vice-President & Commercial Director at ADELTE.

Indeed Creuers has relied for years on ADELTE’s expertise and state-of-the-art technology for its cruise terminals and operates from now a total of 8 ADELTE’s SPBBs in its facilities at the Port of Barcelona.

Besides Creuers’ project, ADELTE has been recently designing, manufacturing or installing Seaport Passenger Boarding Bridges for cruise and ferry terminals in Hamburg, Leixoes, Rotterdam, Savona, Singapore, Busan, Denia, Stornoway, Ullapool and Swinoujscie.
